Purification

 

A person may ask, how can we purify ourselves in this day and age?

For this there are the successors of the Prophets and these people are called the Awliyaa (the friends of Allah). The job of the Awliyaa is in many ways similar to that of the Ambiya. They recite to people the Qur’an and teach them how to act upon it, they teach people how to follow the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) by setting them an example of their own lives. Finally with the will of Allah they purify the people who sit in their company by teaching them the Dhikr (remembrance) of Allah. Therefore it is absolutely essential for a person to form links with someone who satisfies this criteria.
