5 duties of a Muslim

5 duties of a Muslim

A Muslim has five duties towards another Muslim; to reply to his Salaam (greetings); and to visit him while he is ill; and to follow the funeral; and to accept the invitation; and to answer a person who sneezes.

1. When a Muslim meets another Muslim, he should say assalaamu ‘alaykum, and the other must return the greeting by saying wa’alaykumus salaam. It is more virtuous to say wa’alaykumus salaam warahmatullaahi wabaraakaatuh. By greeting someone in this way, you will get 30 rewards from Allah.

2. If a Muslim is sick, visit him.

3. If a Muslim dies, participate in the funeral prayer and burial.

4. If a Muslim invites you, accept his invitation wholeheartedly. 5. If a Muslim sneezes, he should say alhamdulillaah and the one who hears him must say yarhamukallaah.
