Ishraaq

 

Time of performance: Ishraaq Salaat is performed about 15 minutes after sunrise. After the Fajr Salaat one should sit in at the same place and recite Durood, remembrance, tasbeeh, Qur’an, or listen to religious talk then perform Ishraaq Salaat. One can also perform the Salaat even after one as indulged in worldly affairs although the reward will be less.

Number of Rakaats: 2 or 4 Rakaats

Benefits: The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: ”He who performs Fajr Salaat with the congregation and remains seated in the same place engaging in remembrance of Allah until after sunrise thereafter performs 2 Rakaats Nafl, will obtain the reward of one Hajj and one Umrah”. (Tirmizi) “The person who offers 2 Rakaats of Ishraaq Salaat has all his sins forgiven, and if he dies the same day, he will be directly admitted to Jannah. (Tibrani) “Allah says: ` O son of Adam` say 4 Rakaats of Salaah (Ishraaq) in the early part of the day. I shall help you in accomplishing all your jobs during the rest of the day.
