Lack of concentration on Salaat

Lack of concentration on Salaat

A person who had missed two rakaa’ats of Zuhr salaah (for example) at the time when the Imaam made salaam in the fourth rakaa’at, he then remembered and immediately stood up to finish his remaining salaah. In this situation will a sajda-e-sahw be Wajib for him?

MASBOOK: He who has joined the Salaah of the Imaam after the first rakaa’at.
MUQTADI: A follower of the Imaam.

The masbook should not perform salaam, at the time when the Imaam say’s the salaam to terminate his Salaah. If mistakenly the masbook performs salaam after the salaam of the Imaam, then a sajda-a-sahw is Wajib because he has made salaam in the state of being alone. If the salaam is made at the same time with the Imaam then the sajda-a-sahw is not Wajib because he remains a Muqtadi and sajda-a-sahw is not Wajib if he makes an error. In most cases the Muqtadi makes salaam after the Imaam, therefore, in this situation a sajda-a-sahw will become Wajib. Making salaam with the Imaam is a very rare situation. Note: If in any situation (performing salaam with the Imaam or after the Imaam) the salaam is performed deliberately whilst knowing he has rakaa’ats remaining his salaah, will be altogether nullified.
