Missed Prayer, What shall I do?

Missed Prayer, What shall I do?

I learnt Salaah in my 20’s. Do I have to perform all the Salaah that I missed because I did not know the importance of Salaah then?

Yes, you have to perform all the Salaah, which you have missed since becoming Baligh (mature). This is known as Qadha (missed) Salaah. You only have to read the Fardh and the Wajib, meaning two rakaat for Fajr, four rakaat for Dhuhr, four rakaat for Asr, three for Magrib and seven in Eisha including the Witr Salaah.

The method of performing Qhadha (missed) Salaah.

Calculate how many Salaah you missed since becoming mature and then start performing them. You make the intention that this is my first Salaah, which I missed. For example, when you are making Qhadha of your Fajr Salaah your intention should be, “ I am making Qhadha of the first Fajr Salaah that I have missed.” You make this intention every time you make Qhadha of Fajr until you complete all your Fajr Salaah. The reason for this is it will be very difficult to remember the day date for every Salaah you make Qhadha of. Never the less, it is very important that you make Qhadha of your Salaah at once. If one dies whilst in the process of making Qhadha, then Insha-allah, Allah will forgive that person. May Allah make it easy for you. (Ameen)
